Loungeware Game: Penguin Blast

Alt text

The first game I made for Loungeware is called Penguin Blast and is based on a minigame from the original Kirby. The game features varying degrees of difficulty but ultimately was a pretty contentious entry into the series due to the perceived difficulty and input. People were confused on whether it was a rythm game like DDR or which button to press when which was not helped by Loungewares already confusing input schemes and input displays.

To win the game you just need to be holding the button either A, B, or Down when the item hits the player. It was suggested that I add a bit of time forgiveness to when the player presses and releases the input as players instictively wanted to "tap" or "press" instead of "hold". However suggesting this would cause me rage and remove the game from Loungeware and add it back time and again. Will I ever implement it some day? Larold works in myserious ways. Try it out yourself.

Instead of just throwing bombs at the player like in kirby I also throw collectible items that act as a counter balance to a pulley system that can save the life of the damsel in distress Mimpy The Penguin. This was the first game to feature such penguin violence which ended up becoming a long loved tradtion.
